Want the summer!!! After over 2 yrs in Iceland, I wouldn't believe I'd want the hot summer back... but I do! 馃槏 #newzealand #kapiti #kapitiisland #nofilter #island #ocean #bluesky #heaven #summervibes
It must be love...
New post on my blog. About my days in last weeks. It hasn't been easy and it hasn't been fun. But it's over for now and I am back to normal life with a smile on my face :) https://comewithmeandtakeapeek.com/2018/03/10/whats-been-going-on/ #fiordland #newzealand #mountains #fog #coulds #naturephotography #darkness #anxiety #hellodarknessmyoldfriend #iamnotyourfriend
Totally in love with nature 馃槏 #naturephotography #nature #sand #color #newzealand #splitapplerock
Roys Peak. Wanaka. New Zealand. For this view I climbed 4,5 hours. It was a hell. After 1st hour, I stopped, in pain, with bad blisters, out of breathe, out of motivation. #nojosedlotoneni I can't walk in my shoes on anymore, I realized, and decided to go back. I didn't want to fight. I suck in it. So I opened my backpack, took out my snack, started to eat and feel very upset. I texted my @tacianek and she told me, that I shouldn't bully myself. She was right. I kept sitting there in thoughts and told myself, that I can at least try. I don't have to go all the way up, if I won't feel like it. I can always go back. I started heading to the top. Barefoot. Suddenly it wasn't too hard to walk. There were plenty of moments when I thought I can't walk anymore... then I asked myself: "Ok, can you make 20 more steps?" "Well, 20 steps? Yeah, I can make 20 steps." So I did. And again, again, again... and I made it to the top. Did the fact, that I made it to the top, make me feel any different? No. But the journey did. #it'sallaboutthejourneynotthedestination #wanaka #royspeak #newzealand #journey
One more post on my blog :) https://comewithmeandtakeapeek.com/2018/01/30/dunedin/

Hey guys! In this article I’d love to tell you about my favorite spots on the southern coast of Iceland. This part of the country, together with Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon, belongs to the most visited parts of Iceland. No wonder why! The nature is very diverse and you can easily fall in love with it. It offers everything from breathtaking waterfalls to聽astounding mountains and glaciers, impressive coast line, black sand beaches and stunning landscape views. If you wanted to enjoy this all, there is infinite possibilities. Tourism in Iceland is sky rocketing and travel agencies don’t lag behind. The offer of organized trips is very wide and various, just pick one! The roads are in great condition in the majority of the country, so it makes it perfect destination for biking, especially southern part, because of its flat landscape. In case you are renting or own a car, self-drive trip is a must. The constant traffic makes even hitch hiking super easy way to travel here.

Day trips along the south coast are very common and you can definitely see most of the places in one day (in case you travel in summertime). But if you wanted to spend here a little more time and soak the atmosphere thoroughly, don’t hesitate and plan your trip during winter months. The possibility that the weather won’t be great is the same as in summer, so you probably shouldn’t worry about that much. You will need more warm clothes though, that’s for sure 馃檪 In my opinion you can get a lot more out of your trip out of the main season. There is still plenty of tourists in Iceland in winter, but way less than in summer and often the prices for accommodation and flights go down with the temperature. The days might be a little short, but guys! Northern lights! Absolutely worth it. So get your flight ticket, put fluffy socks on and let’s have a look…

Reykjanesviti

20160426_180808

Reykjanesviti, the oldest lighthouse in Iceland, is located about 20 kilometers west from small fishing town Grindav铆k, and it offers great view on the ocean and the Eldey island. It’s not only the lighthouse you can see there. The coastline is amazing and the cliffs there are very picturesque. Gunnuhver, the geothermal area with mud pools and steam vents, is in walking distance.

Selt煤n

20170205_151042

Ever been to Mars? By the road 42 to Kr媒suv铆k, you shouldn’t miss this spot. With its mud pots and solfataras it gives you supernatural experience. Selt煤n used to be a sulfur mine. Guess what that means! Very strong sulfur smell that hits you hard for the first time you smell it, but you like it more and more every time you inhale. Trust me.聽I am a doctor.

Kleifarvatn

20170205_134134

Kleifarvatn, the biggest lake in Reykjanes Peninsula (8 km虏/3,1 mi虏), is probably the most beautiful lake I’ve ever seen. The peace of the shore in late afternoon makes it a perfect place for long walks. Do not forget to take your camera. You will definitely take some of the best pictures from your trip, especially during a sunny day! There is a nice black sand beach, ideal spot for picnic. If you are a bit adventurous, put the swimsuit on and refresh yourself in the chilly water!

Strandarkirkja

DSC03755 (1)

The legend bound up with this Lutheran parish church talks about sailors trying to navigate to Iceland during a night storm. Stressed seamen started to pray to God to show them the right way through the hidden reefs and rough coast and promised to build a church anywhere they landed. Very soon they saw an angel, followed his light and landed safely. Fishermen kept their word and built a church called Strandarkirkja. The bay nearby was named Angel’s Bay (Englisv铆k) according to this accident.

Seljalandsfoss

DSC03758

Seljalandsfoss, the 65 meters (213 ft) long waterfall, is one of the best known waterfalls in the country. The amazing thing about Seljalandsfoss is that you can walk behind it. Unforgettable experience! Don’t forget to bring your raincoats so you will be protected from the drizzle. If you happened to be there in the afternoon, wait for the sunset and watch it from behind the waterfall. It’s magical.

On the western side from Seljalandsfoss is a couple of smaller waterfalls. Take the path and you can’t miss them. The very last one actually falls into a cave and that’s very interesting to see. There is the stream coming out of the cave and you will have to jump over few stones to get inside. Be careful. You don’t want to fall into the cold water, do you?

Sk贸gafoss

20170908_154120

One of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, Sk贸gafoss, and in my opinion also one of the most beautiful ones, is 15 meters (49 ft) wide and 60 meters (200 ft) long. According to legend, the viking聽脼rasi 脼贸r贸lfsson buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall. Single or double rainbow is typical for this place on sunny days. Sk贸gafoss is the starting point for hiking and trekking trials to Fimmv枚r冒uh谩ls,聽脼贸rsm枚rk, Laugavegur and Landmannalaugur. Scenes from the movies Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty were filmed here.

Westman Islands

20160831_125220

Vestmannaeyar, so-called Pompeii of the North, is an archipelago formed by volcanic eruption. The biggest island, Heimaey, is inhabited by 4100 people. The landscape is breathtaking and full of colors, and you will love it. There is several mountains and volcanoes that are great for climbing. The islands are perfect for bird watching and during summer months spotting puffins is guaranteed.

The best way to get there is by a ferry that leaves from聽Landeyjah枚fn port several times per day. Taking a domestic flight is also an option.

Iceland has only two UNESCO’s World Heritage sites.聽脼ingvellir National Park and island Surtsey. This island was formed in 1963 and was added to the list in 2008. The fascinating fact about the youngest island of the archipelago is that it’s been used as “a laboratory for research of immigration of life into a “desert landscape” at this latitude”聽and it’s closed for public.

J枚kuls谩rl贸n

20170303_143548

The glacier lagoon J枚kuls谩rl贸n is one of the most attractive destinations within the country. The icebergs floating in the still, ice-cold and heavenly blue water magnetize visitors from all over the world. If you want to enjoy the lagoon in peace and quiet, get here early in the morning or late in the evening. This place is busy most of the day!

If you are short on time and want to see as much as possible, south coast is a safe bet. As I mentioned before, this part of island is always bustling, so it’s perfect also for very spontaneous trip without any planning at all. You will always find place to eat and to buy necessaries. Just keep an eye on the weather conditions. It can change rapidly within minutes. Use en.vedur.is for the weather and aurora forecast and road.is for the road conditions. In very bad weather the roads will be closed and you might get stuck on the road. When that happens and you will feel in danger, do not hesitate to ask someone for help. Locals are very helpful and friendly and they won’t let you die in a blizzard!

There is a lot more to see on the southern coast, so if you want more tips or have any questions, leave a comment below

Some of the pictures above were taken with my ancient camera, the quality is appropriate O:-)

Tato 膷谩st Islandu pat艡铆, spole膷n臎 s Golden Circle a Modrou lagunou, k nejnav拧t臎vovan臎j拧铆m 膷谩stem ostrova. Nen铆 divu! Tamn铆 p艡铆roda je velmi rozmanit谩 a snadno si j铆 zamilujete. M暖啪ete zde vid臎t v拧e od dech berouc铆ch vodop谩d暖, ohromuj铆c铆ch hor a ledovc暖, p暖sobiv媒ch pob艡e啪铆, 膷ern媒ch pl谩啪铆 a n谩dhern媒ch vyhl铆dek. Nicm茅n臎 i stopov谩n铆 je mo啪nost, kterou m暖啪ete d铆ky neutichaj铆c铆mu provozu klidn臎 zv谩啪it.

Denn铆 v媒lety po pob艡e啪铆 jsou velmi obl铆ben茅 a pokud cestujete v l茅t臎, ur膷it臎 se V谩m poda艡铆 vid臎t to nejd暖le啪it臎j拧铆 za jeden den. Pokud ale chcete z暖stat trochu d茅le a nas谩t zdej拧铆 atmosf茅ru, rozhodn臎 nev谩hejte a dora啪te v zim臎. Pravd臎podobnost, 啪e po膷as铆 nebude jako z poh谩dky, je stejn谩 jako v l茅t臎, tak啪e byste si s t铆m nem臎li p艡铆li拧 l谩mat hlavu.聽 Mysl铆m si, 啪e z pobytu na Islandu m暖啪ete t臎啪it daleko v铆ce mimo hlavn铆 sez贸nu.

Je to klidn茅 a ne tolik nav拧t臎vovan茅 m铆sto s perfektn铆m v媒hledem na mo艡e a ostrov Eldey. Tam臎j拧铆 pob艡e啪铆 a jeho 煤tesy jsou n谩dhern茅. K geoterm谩ln铆mu poli Gunnuhver m暖啪ete z tohoto m铆sta doj铆t pohodln臎 p臎拧ky.

Selt煤n

20170205_151042

U啪 jste n臎kdy byli na Marsu? Ur膷it臎 byste nem臎li minout toto m铆sto. Selt煤n ne nach谩z铆 u silnice 膷. 42, sm臎rem do vesnice Kr媒suv铆k. Bublaj铆c铆 bahenn铆 hrnce a solfatary nab铆zej铆 neskute膷n媒 z谩啪itek. Selt煤n je b媒val媒 sirn媒 d暖l a h谩dejte, co to znamen谩! Siln媒 sirn媒 z谩pach, kter媒 V谩s pra拧t铆 do nosu hned jak vystoup铆te z auta, ale s ka啪d媒m n谩dechem se to zlep拧铆, a啪 si pach, kter媒 p艡ipom铆n谩 zka啪en谩 vejce obl铆b铆te.

Kleifarvatn

20170205_134134

Strandarkirkja

DSC03755 (1)

S t铆mto luter谩nsk媒m farn铆m kostelem se poj铆 legenda o ryb谩艡铆ch, kte艡铆 se b臎hem no膷n铆 bou艡e sna啪ili bezpe膷n臎 vr谩tit na pevninu. Vyd臎拧en铆 mu啪i se za膷ali modlit k Bohu, aby jim uk谩zal cestu p艡es nebezpe膷n茅 煤tesy a sl铆bili, 啪e postav铆 kostel na m铆st臎, kde se jim poda艡铆 zakotvit. Zakr谩tko spat艡ili and臎la, n谩sledovali ho a dopluli bezpe膷n臎 ke b艡ehu. Ryb谩艡i dodr啪eli sv暖j slib a nechali vystav臎t kostel Strandarkirkja. M铆sto bylo pojmenov谩no And臎lsk媒 z谩liv (Engilsv铆k) jako vzpom铆nka na tuto ud谩lost.

Seljalandsfoss

DSC03758

Seljalandsfoss, 65 metr暖 vysok媒 vodop谩d, je jeden z nejzn谩m臎j拧铆ch islandsk媒ch vodop谩d暖 a v媒jime膷n媒 je t铆m, 啪e se za n铆m d谩 proj铆t. Je dobr茅 s sebou m铆t pl谩拧t臎nku kv暖li neust谩l茅mu mrholen铆. Myslete tak茅 na ochranu Va拧ich fotoapar谩t暖. A impregna膷n铆 sprej m谩te?

M谩te-li 膷as a jste zde odpoledne, ur膷it臎 po膷kejte na z谩pad slunce a pozorujte ho zpoza vodop谩du.

Jd臎te po vyzna膷en茅 p臎拧in臎 a ur膷it臎 je neminete. Nejvzd谩len臎j拧铆 z vodop谩d暖 pad谩 do jeskyn臎, kam se m暖啪ete (a m臎li byste) pod铆vat. Jen mus铆te p艡esk谩kat p谩r valoun暖, tak opatrn臎, a钮 se nanamo膷铆te.

Sk贸gafoss

20170908_154120

Legenda prav铆, 啪e viking 脼rasi 脼贸r贸lfsson zakopal v jeskyni za vodop谩dem poklad. Duha, 膷asto dvojit谩, je typick媒m znakem Sk贸gafossu. Byly zde to膷eny sc茅ny z film暖 Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

Vestmansk茅 ostrovy

20160831_125220

Vestmansk茅 ostrovy, tak zvan茅 Pompeje severu, jsou souostrov铆 vytvo艡en茅 sope膷nou erupc铆. Nejv臎t拧铆 z ostrov暖, Heimaey, je obydlen 4100 obyvateli. M铆stn铆 krajina je neuv臎艡iteln臎 n谩dhern谩 a ka啪d媒 si ji zamiluje.

Dal拧铆 a mnohon谩sobn臎 dra啪拧铆 mo啪nost je vyu啪铆t vnitrost谩tn铆 leteck茅 spole膷nosti.

Island m谩 pouze dv臎 pam谩tky UNESCO. A sice N谩rodn铆 park 脼ingvellir a ostrov Surtsey.

J枚kuls谩rl贸n

20170303_143548

Ledov茅 kry pluj铆c铆 v klidn茅, ledov茅 a nebesky modr茅 vod臎 l谩kaj铆 n谩v拧t臎vn铆ky z cel茅ho sv臎ta. Pokud si toto m铆sto chcete u啪铆t v relativn铆m klidu a m铆ru, p艡ije膹te brzy r谩no nebo pozd臎 ve膷er. P艡铆val turist暖 tu neutich谩 skoro nikdy.

Pokud V谩s tla膷铆 膷as a chcete vid臎t z Islandu co nejv铆c, ji啪n铆 pob艡e啪铆 je s谩zka na jistotu.

Obzvl谩拧钮 v zim臎 je vhodn茅 kouknout sem tam na p艡edpov臎膹 po膷as铆 na en.vedur.is. M铆stn铆 jsou velmi p艡谩tel拧t铆, po膷as铆 rozum铆 a nenechaj铆 V谩s umrznout ve sn臎hov茅 bou艡i :-).

Pokud m谩te z谩jem o v铆c informac铆/tip暖, napi拧te mi do koment谩艡暖!
